I have found that shooting with the cock vane down will almost always cause contact. Follow David' s advice and experiment with the vane. My vanes are set a little more towards 45 degress from the string, if that makes any sense. I also shaved some of my arm off to minimize the risk, but be careful, too much and the arrow will not set square with every draw. Best of luck, it' s a great rest.
