Just shot the new recurve!
I finally shot the new CheckMate yesterday evening. I learned several things real quick. The 2117's do not shoot very well. The 2013 the dealer sent me shoots good, but I still have some fletching contact with the shelf. I think I like the 3 fingers bellow with the middle finger anchored at the corner of my mouth and the bottom finger barely even touching the string. I started split finger but wanted to shoot really high most shots and felt like I was pointing at the ground to correct, so I switched to the 3 under. I didn't use the arrow for any kind of reference and the 3 under seemed more natural.
I definitely enjoy shooting the recurve and could have shot all day, but it got dark on me. I couldn't stand watching the wild flight of the 2117 arrows so I was only shooting the one 2013. My wife was laughing at me for having to walk back and forth to the target after every shot. I'll be headed to the archery shop today and that will show her.LOL
The bow shoots faster than I expected and is a lot quieter than I expected, if my release is smoothe enough. I think I will pick up on the accuracy fairly quick with practice.
I was wondering how much flethching contact some of you normally have when shooting off the shelf, if any?
