I've never shot a deer with a .243 but have 4 friends that use them. One uses Winchester 100 grain Power Points and has great luck. 2 of them use Federal 100 grain soft points, and 1 of them uses Hornady 95 grain SST's. The one that uses the SST's used Winchester Power Points in the past and had good luck with them but ever since trying the SST's he said they are the most devastating bullet he has found. He loves them. I think I may try them out in the future. The soft points from any of the main company's seem to work and be cheaper if you are on a budget.
