I'm still here just not as active. There was no hunting for me this past year b/c the state closed the two main popular areas then increased the rates. It was already very crowded but this made it unsafe. Think 40-50ft between parties before closure.

My setter loves the cold weather. I normally trim her excess hair feathering except her tail. Last week, she jumped into a hole in the ice - shallow part of the lake - and it didn't phase her. Lastnight, she went galloping off into calf-high pool. She was having fun crushing the thin layer of ice on top. If you are willing to do a little trimming work then it would be worth considering getting a setter.
