I see a lot of good advice here, I guess the only thing I might add is that the 90 gr load with the 200gr SW has been what I have use for a starting load for my kids and grand kids, and the recoil is considerably less while the velocity is higher and that load works very well on deer and boar.
thought of that but new york has a law saying that a muzzleloader projectal has to be a min. of of a .44cal.not including sabot.200 gr shockwaves are 40 cal. Not legal for hunting.
