It's not the cartridge but rather the rifle that it is chambered in.
If you are hunting in thick terrain you want a short, quick handling rifle that can be maneuvered through trees and brush easily. The cartridge matters not.
If your rifle has a long barrel, is overly heavy and bulky, and has a big high power scope I would say it would be a handicap in that setting regardless of what cartridge it is chambered for.
