my current cabelas catalogs state that the rifleman and the vx1 models are american made, is cabelas lying too?
If the Leupold scope has a gold ring it may be made in the USA. If the scope does not have a gold ring it is for sure made in China. Many of the Leupold spotting scopes, range finders and binos are also made in China.

Like I said before, I own about a dozen Leupold scopes and have never had any trouble with them. However, the very fact that Leupold will not tell you that their made in China product is made in China has turned me off. Sounds like they are ashamed of some of their products. I will never buy another Leupold product.

Presently I have three new Zeiss scopes on order. I know where they are made.

Q1: Where are these binoculars made?
A: Leupold Green Ring Mesa 8x42 binoculars are made in China.
