I've never used a ground blind before but i'm going to bring my kids out (age 3 & 5) for an afternoon or two and didn't want to risk putting them up in a tree stand. I'll also be bringing my wife out whose never hunted either, with any luck i'll make 3 converts this season!
If its possible set your blind out at least 1 week before season starts or dear seem to shy away from them.
try to set it up in a brushy area so it blends in with the back ground
don't have any windows or doors open behind where you sit in the blind or they can see you in it.
wear dark colored cloths preferably black
I bought some heavy plastic tent stakes for mine the stakes that come with it seem to pull out easy in bad wind
some states require orange on all four sides I know Iowa does
