Default RE: Were mtn. lions stocked in NJ to control deer Population?

I' m no expert but I would think that coyotes would do more damage to deer populations than mt. lions. More coyotes in one territorial range, can hunt in packs, etc. Another thing hunters kill thousands of deer a year and in some areas that still is not enough to control growing deer numbers. There is no way a few cougars could ever kill enough deer to control much of the population. They might get a few but not enough.
