I can honestly say that I dont really do a single thing to "control" my scent, other than prepare for which way my scent is going to blow.
Last year I bought a new leafy suit. Unless its too cold for "street" clothes, all I wear hunting is regular ol shorts and a t-shirt or whatever with my mesh leafy suit over it.
Wanna guess how many times ive washed the leafy suit??? Never... 3 deer last year in it, and 2 so far this year... The deer I killed 2 nights ago was right under me, and feeding. She was under me for a good 5-6 minutes. I had worked out that day, and still had my gym shorts on, a t-shirt that I had worn before working out, and my old nike shox... They are tattered and once they get warmed up a bit they are smelly to say the least...(first deer I killed last season was in shoes as well)
I will agree with everyone that a deers nose is the hardest part of the deer to fool. Without a doubt, they are super sensitive ANY unnatural smell, and I believe that unless you leave your clothes out in the woods and then go put em on, after youve slept naked out in the leaves, you are still not a natural smell to the woods.
Whatever works for ya tho man! Obviously the smell thing hasnt disturbed my hunting too much, but everyones circumstances are different. If I had an abundance of moolah i might even use scent blocker clothing b/c they really have nice stuff.
