I just sat through Hunter Education with my 12 year old Son and the CPO told us that Illinois law says a landowner does not have to let anyone trespass to retrieve deer if they so choose. The CPO could talk to a landowner for a hunter, but it is up to the landowner if you get your game or not. In my mind only a real tool would not let a hunter retrieve downed game.
