I was told the objective of the **** feather was to make sure you were placing the arrow on the nock the same way everytime. The only different between it and the other vanes is the color. I shoot a WB rest, so I just put each arrow on the nock and twist until there's clearance, this way they all end up the same. I don't see how a drop-away is any different as to up, down, left or right the **** feather is, as long it's always in the same spot so you're assured proper clearance of the cables and prongs.
