Here is my $.02.

Both are very good. I had a Meopta Meostar that was excellent. IMO, the glass was a bit better than the Conquest (but the Conquest is certainly no dog). A 30mm scope does not "gather" any more light than a 1" scope. It will, however, typically have a larger adjustment range and me even be somewhat stronger. If you are highly focused on low light capabilities, get the best glass you can afford, along with a good reticle (I prefer the #4A myself). Also, don't over look the Trijicon Accupoint line. They are the bugs nutz in deep woods or during low light times. Good luck.
