From dcnr article 1997--

"Although highly complimentary of the state's management of the forests in nearly all areas, the evaluation team identified several areas of needed improvements, such as the overpopulation of deer in the state. Oliver said most of the shortcomings cited in the report will be addressed in the state's next 15-year forest management plan currently under development.'
