I bought the Savage package 110 in a .223. The rings are in my "junk" parts. The scope was actually a decent Simmons scope that I put on one of my 22's. It is a great 22 scope.

I bought another package Savage years ago in a 30.06. The scope and rifle shot good enough for a couple of years. I even killed a couple of elk with it.( one elk was 175 yard shot} Then one year I went to the mountains on an elk hunt. I stopped at the range to zero at hunting elevation. The rifle would not zero. After tightening bases and rings and trying again I realized the scope was bad. I ended up buying a new scope. I paid 350 dollars for a 200 dollar scope because I was in a small town in the mountains!!!. If you use the package scope on a gun with signifigant recoil, it will go bad soon enough.
