RE: Bullets
I have had good success with the 475 grain buffalo bullets using 90 grains of pyrodex. They are pretty hard to find in my area though. I am basically an amateur when it comes to muzzleloading, but I have played around with many different guns and types of ammo, as well as different charges. My first and so far only muzzleloader kill was a 200 pound eight pointer. The gun was CVA' s cheapest model (forget the name exactly) that I bought at Wal-Mart the night before the hunt. Took one shot to see how it was sighted and I hit the mark dead-on at about 25 yards. The next bullet was sent through the vitals of that nice buck. I can' t seem to make consistent shots with round balls but the buffalo bullets treat me well!
