Northern Virginia is not the best place to be a hunter. Little hunting around here, most of the stuff in the further west counties like Loudon or Prince William is private or small or locked up. It is even hard to find a place to shoot more than 100 yards to get sighted in or practice without driving 2 hours.
Not sure if you are familiar w/ Clark Bros. or not. It' s still prolly a drive for you, but its located off Rte. 15 in Warrenton. They have a 100 yd. range and if you go on a weekday, its more than likely you' ll have the range to yourself for the 1st half of the day. They open at 9 A.M.
Quantico has an excellent deer population, but I' ve never hunted A.P. Hill, so I' m not sure about the deer there.
