Default RE: IMR vs Hogdon

ORIGINAL: Powerfisher

My buddy is loading up some .69gr hpbt for his .223 and cant find a chart that has H4198 load info on it for that particular bullet. he has found the info for IMR 4198. Is it the same?
For all practicle puposes, IMR 4198 and H4198 are the same powder, IMR is #57 on the burn chart and H4198 is #58, start at the low side and work your way up to find your load. My personal experience with either 4198s is it is too fast a powder for the .223 and heavy bullets, my best loads come from H4895, from 69gr Nosler HPBTM, 70gr Barnes Tripple Shocks to 77gr Sierra HPBT.
