I believe the deer herd can be brought backk to 70s level. But it will take some BIG_____sacrifice from individuals and less dependency on the PGC.
While I don't expect to ever see the herd of the 70s, and don't care to, I think PGC deer management credibility could go a long wayby allocating doe permits via the private vs public land instead of the blanket policy the use now.
As far as I'm concerned, until the PGC goes to a private vs public system, there ain't no way they can claim to be managing a deer herd by anything other than junk science.
