RE: BlackHorn 209 powder
I have gone through two 10oz containers and I love it. It is pricy though so I am now using it for Hunting only and not paper punching. Dont get fooled by the "No Swabbing" like I did. You will need to swab every 10 or so shots. Also, fouling does build up in the flash hole in the breech plug so you will need to keep the flash hole clear. I just poke a paper clip through the hole to keep it clear, every 10 shots or so. I dont wait for a hang fire before I clean it. Its the 209 primer that fouls the flash hole, not the BH209. If it was more affordable, that is all I would use in my in-line ML. Clean with Hoppes and lightly oil. I shoot 290gr Barnes TMZs. It was mentioned that the BH209 works better with heavier bullets. I was shooting 250gr TMZs but have gone up to the 290gr. I agree, the 290s have more penitration and buck the wind better and, tighter grouping. I like it. Just wish it wasnt so expencive.
