Default RE: 3-9 or 2-7 or 1.5-6 power scope for muzzle loader?

I used a 2.5x20mm Leupold. I did shoot a deer out at 80 yards without a problem,
i am a long time proponent of fixed power scopes and have made some long shots with them.In late May, i
made my longest muzzleloadershot everwhen i killed a sow at a laser transit measured 227 yards. BTW: She was running. The scope on that gun is a4X Redfield Widefield.

With the exception of some Unertl scopes on USMC guns, all of the snipers of WWII used scopes of 4X or less.
