Default RE: No Excuses Bullets

Because you are going to be shooting them in a 1-48 twist, I would suggest looking at some maxiball if you can find them for that .54 caliber. They should shoot very well, and be all the lead you need for anything up to a moose.

Although I have had great luck with No Excuse Conicals and Bull Shop conicals in my .50 caliber fast twist and even on some of my 1-48 twist, I tried some of the .54 caliber conicals from BullShop and did not have the best of accuracy with them. Although in all fairness to Dan and BullShop, a person can not shoot a few conicals with one or two powder charges and then claim they do not work. Had I a large supply of them, I probably could have found a charge that made them work. If you want to use the No Excuses, or Bull Shops, get a good supply of them and be prepared for some range work.

Other wise, you might want to stick with some maxiball or great plains, as they tend to shoot well with about 80 grains of powder.
