Monster, there are several of us that are from NE Ohio that would be willing to help you out. As Proff stated the DNR site has great information but I know of ones that are closer. The only problem with those areas, particularly near Akron, you really have to know your woods before hand. There are public grounds east on 224 towards a small town called Deerfield. I would say depending on where you are in Akron maybe 40 minutes from Akron due east. In that area alone near Deerfield/Lake Berlin there are numerouspublic hunting lands.
