Default RE: Two questions for Omega X7 owners

Other bullets that work good in my X7 are the 45 caliber 300g gold dot, and the 300g xtp; the 44 caliber 300g xtp, the 270g gold dot. I most always use the Winchester 209 primer, the crush rib sabot, and 105g BH209. We know the Nosler is deadly on deer; this year we will see if the xtp and gold dot are also.

What happened with my X7 when shooting the heavier bullets is, they ended up shooting low at 100yd, and i wanted them to be some high. Using the peep, i didn't figure on shooting much further than 100yd at deer, and shooting a little low would have killed deer, but just in case i wanted to bullet to impact high at 100yd. So, i removed some material off the bottom of the front sight, and now the bullets impact a little high at 100yd with a little up adjustment left at the peepsight. Where the bullets are impacting now would allow a deer kill to near 150yd, if i do my part.

The X7 sure is a nice rifle to carry around whilst hunting. My neck and back never began aching during my hunts this past season like they always had in all the years past. Carrying a small light rifle without a scope is quite nice, even though it is hard for me to focus on the front sight. The important thing here is i filled all my tags, and did it comfortably. Once upon a time, i was sad we couldn't use scopes here, but now i am glad!
