RE: .45 VS 10mm
I like the .45 and a 1911 is on my wish list, but let me note that on every single handgun website I frequent that evaluates the .45 compared to XX cartridge, the history and legend of the .45 is what is most frequently mentioned -- not performance advantages.
I like the .45 but from a raw performance on game perspective I don't see much argument to be made that the 10mm is not more effective.
If you shoot factory ammo, I think the .45 does gain an advantage in terms of available loads. If you roll your own like me, however, the 10mm wins again.
