Default RE: 250gr VS 300gr

ORIGINAL: Powerfisher

The more I read on this site, the more I think I should be shooting a heavier bullet. Right now I have my Omega set up with a Williams Peep, 110 grains of BH209 and 250gr Barnes TMZ. At 150yds, I can still hit a milk jug but when I bench rest it, I expect a better grouping. My patterns are about 4" or so. Would a heavier bullet hold a little better and tighten up my grouping? Lots of folks here shoot a 300gr or heavier. OR, should I just leave well enough alone? I woould like to be able to go ouot to 200yds with confidence. What do yall think?
4" group at 150yds with peep sights is not bad at all. You can't blame the load unless you put a scope on it and it doesn't tighten up.

Bullet weight has little or nothing to do with accuracy. My Omega has consistently shot 1-inch at 100yd or better with weights ranging from 200gr (my normal load) clear up to 325gr.

Bullet weight, like many things, comes down to personal preference for deer-sized game. A 200gr bullet will do perfectly fine but so will a heavy hitter.
