Absolutely everyone should have a .22 lr. Ammo is cheap (50 rounds of Winchester Super X is less than $2.50, and 500 round bricks of promotional loads are less than $20) and excellent high velocity and target grade ammo is available. I do not know any good shooters that did not spend many hours and many thousands of rounds with a .22 lr.
Noise is low, there is no recoil, and it is plenty accurate enough to shoot a groundhog between the eyes at 50 yards. The .22 lr is just plain fun.
Absolutely, positively true. My .22 was the first to come, and it'll be the last one they pry out of my cold dead hands when I'm gone 'cause all the others will be empty. Get yourself a good .22LR. Even these days of inflated ammo prices, the 22lr is cheap to shoot. I've shot my Ruger 10/22 so much in one session that my fingers got too sore to load the magazines anymore. As much as I love shooting CF rifles and muzzleloaders, everyonce in awhile I just gotta burn up a brick of 22lr and it always brings a smile to my face when I do.
