Well, it has begun... The Lolo Trail ML's held their anual "Spring Fling." It was a ton of fun and great food.
This is why i have been trying to sharpen my PRB shooting. Seems
like every weekend from now on the is ML Rondy someplace close enough around here that I can drive to and as much as I love shooting it really is a good excuse to go shoot.
Anyway I did OK @ the Fling - i only participate in the rifle shooting portion, do not have a pistol and I certainly con not stick a knife or hawk.
The shooting event starts off with each shooter shooting 5 targets and his/her tie breaker card. From there you move to the walking trail and shoot various targets at various distance - some easy some difficult - I mean difficult.
Now here is the real crux of the problem for me it is all off-hand not sticks no rests...
On the walking trail I really did better than I thought I would - I even went for the small spoon as i was feeling really confident. - got it also - worth 3 points...
Here is my 30 yard five shot target - at least I scored points for each shot - but lots of room for improvement. I shot the 50 cal Renegade with 70 grains T7-2f and a .015 pre-lubed patch. funny thing as the day warmed up it seemed lie it was really getting easier to push that down. I am going to try .018's sometime this week ans see it that helps accuracy. Gosh! i wish i could just leave well enough alone.
April 17 -18 -19 - Benton City. WA is next... Then the really neat one on Troy, OR.
