You know i really do not know for sure about the quality of the 'weathershield'... my thoughts are TC offers a lifetime warranty and i would not expect then to invest in a process that is going to cost them a lot of money over the long haul. I have to believe they did their homework on the product and there is a belief on their part that it works.

The other thing I think about is blueing is nothing more than rusting you barrel or reciever blue - In fact often when you clean and wipe a new gun with a quality oil you will get a rusty patch. When I blue guns here I get rusty patches for several weeks after a blue job.

I think a thing you might do, would be to call TC and ask them what the process is and what they think is the best process for maintaining it? Heck the call is free - actually you might do us all a favor if you got that information then told us about it.

I have one a, Weathershield barrel and reciever but I have not had it long enough to provide correct information...
