Default Problems with Cattle

I want to plant some food plots but there are cattle on the property. I can't afford to "fence off" an area to keep the cattle out. What other options do I have. Has anyone used the scent that will repel deer and would it also work on cattle? I thought that I might be able to tie the scent line onto the existing barbed wire fence so the deer could enter the plot by crossing the barbed wire but the cattle wouldn't cross the scent soaked line that surrounds up the other three sides of the plot. Has anyone ever done this? Do you think it would work? The main thing is that the cattle be repelled by the scent like the deer, and that the deer would still enter the plot with the scent on 3 sides of it. This seems like a cheaper way to do this than spending $ for Tposts and barbed wire.
