Seriously, though... If you've had it for such a short time and the finish is already that worn, and you haven't neglected or beat the crap out of it, I'd contact Remington. You also mention that it has what "looks like a crack in it". I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, but it makes me even more strongly inclined to recommend you call Remington. At the VERY LEAST, take it to a gunsmith to make sure it is safe before you shoot it again. Cracks in gun = VERY BAD!!
