RE: Opinion
THANKS BIRDDOG:
ICOME FROM A MILITARY FAMILY AND AM PROUD TO SAY SO. I had three uncles that Were on the USS PENNSYLVANIAin Pearl Harbor the day of INFAMY. They are dead now but war never leaves your thoughts as long as you live. I lost a brother to the Korean Conflict as it is known by our generation.
I feel that a person should experience war so as they know what it is like to the men and women who proudly up hold freedom for all. The men and women who go off to war are the bravest people alive.
I SAY I THINK A PRESIDENT MUST KNOW WHAT IT IS LIKE.
The worst feeling a person can have, is like when we came home from VIETNAM and were spit on and called baby killers. We did our countries duty and all we wanted was to be welcomed home. The people who burn flags and called us names, got their freedoms from men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice, so they had the freedom to do what they did. I say again war must be the last resort because it is HELL.
As for what would our forefathers say? I feel they would turn over in their graves as to some things that are going on.
I must add this- The day 911 took place the muslim community (SOMALI) residents in a small town not too far from me were out on the street corner burning the AMERICAN flag and chanting down with US. I had all I could do to just drive by. I just don't know what to think any more!
