Not sure, but I believe the shirt and tie tradition has its roots in pre colonial Europe where hunting was a privilege reserved for the wealthy...a gentleman's sport if you will. Could also have to do with respect for the game, reverence for the hunt. I imagine the band was for deer camp entertainment purposes. (No satellite tv in that camp!) The mature conifer forest setting could be the western states, and the deer is looking more and more like a mule deer each time I look.
