I would respool as needed. For the fact of fishing for enjoyment it isn't necessary to respool all that often. It really depends on the condition of the line and the receptivity of it. If the line is worn and has large loops from holding on the spool I will definately change the line.

It is a tough task to keep on when you have about 10 different rod/reel combo for multiple fishing scenario's, not counting all the back-ups.
