I do not think it is a short barreled new gun. It is based on the Disc Extreme - stainless steel only - 26/27" barrel.
And I guess should add I still prefer a solid one piece bolt action rifle to a break action unless it is a shotgun. I also prefer the thumb safety to pulling back the hammer. I prefer the adjustable trigger to a trigger that can not be set without dissasembly and changing springs.
Knight went to the bolt for customer appeal otherwise they would still be using a simple pull back knob on the end of the plunger.
I'm with you on the one-piece action 100%...but I lean toward Omega-type actions as I don't mind the hammer and a bolt adds length and cleaning not necessary for function. I'm also with you on the trigger.
