I think i read someplace along the line that you did take the rifle to a practicing gun smith for inspection. Is that correct? If you did would you consider this person reliable? Has the gun gone to a second qualified gun smith for verification?

Could you re-write what his visual inspection lead him to believe was the cause of the failure?

And by-the-way as Lee has said hang on to the gun until your have reached your chosen conclusion. And as an added thought get everything documented. Treat it just like any another serious accident.
