RE: Need Help to convince mom that girls should hunt
HNI Visitor, tell your mom about all of the great things about hunting. Being in the woods, respect for nature, skills such as tracking, orienteering (compass), shooting, add to that personal discipline, physical fitness, patience, persistance, and personal responsibility. Tell her that those skills are not for boys only <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> and that hunting teaches you all of those skills and more!
There are several of us "huntin' women" on the board here - if you have a computer you can use, why don't you join the board and hang out with us. I think you'll find it rewarding and it will prepare you for the discussion you need to have with your mom as fall approaches.
By the way, do you have someone reponsible that your mom repsects to hunt with? That will go a long way toward making sure she is comfortable that her baby is safe in the woods.
