For a deer bullet try the 180 grain Speer BTSP and RL 22. RL22 is a slow powder.WhenI started out reloading I used powdersthat filled the case when loaded. Thatmadeitall but impossibe to get into serious pressure problems if you make a mistake. I tried to idiot proof it as much as possible. If you accidentally significantly overcharge a round the bullet will simply not seat. A faster powderwould allow you to add 5 - 10 grains over max and would be more dangerous IMHO.It turns out that RL 22 also gives best velocities for me from 165 to 200 grain bullets.
