RE: Still no help from T/C!
I have two experiences with TC service.
When I bought a used .50 Renegade with a rusty, pitted barrel I sent it to them with a note saying that I bought it used, knowing the barrel had been mistreated, and asked if anything could be done. It was returned two weeks later with a service slip that said "barrel lapped - no charge". It still had pits, but was a whole lot better than when I sent it.
After I bought a .45 GM barrel for the RenegadeI put a scope on it using a TC scope base. With the scope mountedthe hammer would just barely scrape the bell housing of the rear lens. I could have easily bent the hammer out a little to solve the problem. But theinstallation instructionsthat came with the basesaid that if the hammer failed to clear the scope call TC for a free re-contoured hammer. So I did. Five days later a new hammer and lock showed up in the mail.
I sure can't call TC service anything but EXCELLENT! Sure, I have an "investment" in TC - a New Englander I bought used about 10 years ago, the used and abused Renegade I bought last year, and the new X7 I bought last month. But that's not the kind of investment that would distort my opinion of their service.
