The fishers are part of the PGC's new FR (flock reduction) program. The turkeys are outcompeting all other bird species, so a 50% reduction is being pushed for by the Audubon and the tree huggers. Top it off with the new spur restictions, and we have a mirror image of the phenomenally successful deer program. Bonus hen tags in the spring and 1 1/4" minimum spur length should quickly and dramatically reduce the flock and provide the privileged few with a chance at a real trophy tom. Apparently fishers are very capable turkey killers, known to prey onadults as well as juvenilles, and are notorious nest raiders as well. Just what the PGC ordered. Should accomplish in quick order what the coyotes have already been doing to the turkeys and what they have done with the deer fawns as well.
the fishers kill porcupines.

fishers are killers,they will kill chickens in pens ,so will weasel.
i am disturbed at all predators that are now in pa in large numbers .
fox,coyote,cougar
hawks,owls,bobcats,fishers,eagl e.
they all have eat and boy do they.
you should see eagles at bush dam dive down and bring up a 28 inch ,8 lb gold palomino trout.[:@]
i see this every year in kettle creek stream/dam.
we need season like bobcat/coyote/fox .for others.
we need a fisher season,OWL season,never get a eagle season,PETA would jump all over me on that one.
no doubt the PETA birdwatchers are taking over our great state of pa.hey, they are moving into your sportsmans clubs too in GREAT NUMBERS.
you should see how they look at you when you have gun in your hands,tell them you are DEER hunting and they are happy with you,tell them you are BIRD HUNTING, and the looks they give you will make you sick.
pgc commissioners are example on that.they want deer dead but dont touch a OWL that is cleaning over 28 rabbits a winter in my home area.[:@]
