Default RE: Open land to public???

ORIGINAL: Planter

Ko has a very valid question if you live in a state like MA.

In MA it is the landowners responsibility to post the land in question every 75ft if he does not want you hunting on it. UNPOSTED land is open to all!!If you see a piece of land you want to hunt you have every right to do so IF it is not posted. We have to be the only state that does it backazzword like that.

That being said I NEVER hunt on land I am not invited on to.It feels very uncomfortable and not worth it to sit in a stand thinking I am not welcome.
Same for NH, however the sign has to be every 50'.
(the state might have lengthen it to 100' within the last few years, i'll have to verify this).
But unless it's signed a dated yearly it's not legal.
NH motto is "live free or die".

Keep in mind NH has a real estate tax break for land owners called "current use tax".
This allows a significant tax break for parcels over 10 acres and if the land is classified under "recreational use",
then they owner can not post it, however, there are a few small exceptions I won't get into...

So to your question...
My first thoughts are not to post God's creation, but I have not been faced to deal to with the general hunting public
and if I were pushed, I would post it. So maybe
