All Pinnacle powder is made by APP. Several years ago i tried the Clean Shot pellets and the Clean Shot powder. The pellets were very powerful but nearly impossible to light, i used 5 grain igniter charge ofClean Shotgranular. Haveburned about10 pounds of 2F JSGon deer, hogs and targets; lots of targets.Someof my best groups were fired with JSG.JSG granular likes a tightfitting sabot that is solidly tamped.One can actually feel it compress.

Decided to try Pinnacle awhile back. Most of the Pinnacle i have used is 2F. 2F Pinnacle is more potent than 2F JSG. 100 volume measured grains ofPinnacle is not far off the same quantity of Pyrodex RS in power. 3F Pinnacle seems to be a little more powerful that Pyrodex RS.

A problem arises becauseGoex refuses to do any load development with granular Pinnacle. Just ordered a quantity of JSG in both granulations against the day Goex decides to drop Pinnacle.

Because their time to pressure is very good and the fact that they haveflat burning curves,JSG and Pinnacle burn at much reduced pressures when compared to 777and Pyrodex. It is nice to not havea crud ring after firing several shots. It is nicer still to be able to easlly remove the breech plug after 30 rounds.

Pinnacle also likesa tight fitting sabot that is seated until the powder compresses.
