Default RE: Gold Tip arrows

Almost every manufacturer has their own way of labeling arrows. So which would you say is normal or correct? I can tell you that Easton/Beman mark theirs according to actual spine deflection; 500, 400, 340, 300, etc, with the higher number meaning more deflection or weaker spine.

Gold Tip marks their Ultralight series according to deflection, too. The 5575 and 7595 designation on the Expeditions and XT's used to mean the approximate bow weights they could be shot at, but it's not as simple as that. You have to ask, "yeah, at what length?" Also I don't think they've kept up with the cam technology well as they should because a 5575 (400 spine)at about 29" cannot be shot well or safely from anything approaching 75#. Nor can a 7595 (340 spine)be shot at 95#. Maybe years ago before cams became so aggressive but not today. Simply put, the arrows are OK. They just need to relable them.

Carbon Express used to mark their 100, 200, 300, 400, with the higher number meaning stiffer. As mentioned the now 250 and 350 have nothing to do with spine deflection numbers. Blackhawk Vapor is the same way, except that they just add another zero on; 2000, 3000, 4000 and so forth.

What about all the other arrows you see that are marked 4560 (poundage again) or 5570? You see? They all have their own way of trying to sell something.
