It's about making us better hunters and hunting for the experience not just killing for the sake of killing.
Shooting a 2.5 buck with a bigger rack than a 1.5 does not make you a good hunter. IMHO the vast majority of 2.5 + buck are harvested by chance rather than due to hunting smarter or hunting harder.
f we no longer have an AR, should we then go back to the 3 days of doe after Buck with rifle season or just start killing every deer that walks in front of us all season long
A 3 day doe season would solve the problem as long as they continued issuing excessive doe tags. Remember we killed 302K antlerless with a 4 day season and 830K tags in 2000.We could harvest enough deer with a 3 day season to keep the herd stable without shooting spikes.
