Default RE: Respecting Deer

ORIGINAL: rybohunter

So feeding someone who doesn't have enough to eat, is disrespectful to the animal I killed in order to do so?????

Ok, rybo, let me give you two real life scenerios I just witnessed this week. And you can see where I am coming from

One, I am hunting with a guy who does not eat deer meat, and won't even try. But strangely enough, he loves to hunt. So he has had a bad year, and not killed yet. So one night his luck turns, and arrows a 4 pt. But he doesn't stop there, he shoots a 5pt. While in the truck on the way home, he explains I can have these deer. I explain, my freezer is about full, and told him to enjoy these deer. And besides, he busted the pee bag on the meat on one and the gall bladder on another. What does he care. He gets mad and asks, "what am I going to do with em". I tell him, he should eat them and ask him why heshot em. He explains, "I wanted to get some deer under my belt so I can say I actually killed one this year". Well, all the butchers HFTHin the area are no longer accepting donations as they usually do this time of year. I have no idea if he found someone to take them. I told him, I will take the backstraps. And since i dragged them out for him, he agreed.

Scenerio two (three weeks ago), a person in my family is injured and can't walk well. And I have a feeling not doing well financially. Can't hunt this year. He asks me if I have some extra deer meat. I give him out my personal cuts,4 hind qtrs. I also offer him 20lbs of hamburger I freshly ground. He refuses the hamburger which chaps a little. But thats ok. He does a great job smoking hinds anyway. So I am left with 4 hind qtrs. And now if I so desire will shoot a nice buck or big doe.

Do you see the difference?
