I agree that they are a bit too lightly constructed for magnum velocities. I once loaded some 165 gr in a .30-338 and shot a medium Pa. doe in the ribs. She looked like she had swallowed a grenade. But, in a .30-06, they are not nearly so explosive,but are stillvery accurate sudden death. By the way,I don't know the reason, but on shoulder shotswith my .30-06's, the flat base seemed to hold together better than the boattail.
