This is what I did. We had a tractor brought in summer of 2001, and plowed up a thick sod field area. I later dragged it out w/ my atv and set of drags. We left the sod to rot, then limed it last yr. I weed killed the field this spring. Then simply went over it again with the same set of drags. It took me a good 5-6 passes over it, no biggy. But it broke it up again real well. I spread my seed, then went over it with a set of bed springs to cover the seed, then with a lawn roller to pack down the seed. This was for clover. I could' ve used a small set of disc, but couldn' t find any to rent, and having my dad' s set of drags I figured why buy some. Whatever you do I wouldn' t wait too much longer before planting, so it gets a decent length growing season!
