I have used Sierra bullets in.30 calfor about 50 years.Before the company decided that they needed fancy names--Pro Hunter and Game King--they wereknown simply as Sierra spitzer and Sierra spitzer boat tail. I still have some of the original packaging. The.30 caliberoriginally came in 150 and 180 grain versions, with the 165 grain weight being added later. All of these versionshave proven to beexcellent for deer size gameand are very accurate bullets, or they would not have survived this long. In my rifles, I have gotten slightly better accuracy with the flat base bullets, but the difference is not great.
