don't have a remington, but just bought a browning xbolt 30-06. I use 165 grain remington core lokts. These rounds have very little travel from 0-200 yards and carry good kenetic energy. I use to use 150 grain core lokts out of my 30-30 and loved the way thebullet performed (dropped more deer in their tracks than anyone I know). When I switched rifles I went with what I knew worked THis round can be found at any sporting goods store (which is a plus incase you forget your rounds) and it won't break the bank.

i recently shot a doe at about 100 yards with this round. On impact she was slammed to her side, and only ran 25 yards (last 10 was dirt plowin). The best part was the fact that I found blood at the impact sight and had a GREAT blood trail.
