Default RE: is this a good bow, good price?

The bow is absolutely one of the best bows to ever be produced by anyone.BAR NONE.The only problem is it doesn' t have the cam 1/2 which is a better cam system imo.

There is another problem I noticed.Hoyt didn' t offer the Redline in 2002 on the protec, unless it is a special order, but I doubt that because they used the duall track idler in 2002 so I would think it is a 2001 model. The redline isn' t as good as the versa or excell that was offered in 2002,imo and I have owned a bow with the redline cam and it was nice but not as nice as the versa or excell.

I had a 2001 Protec with the Versa cam and shot some of my best scores ever with it.

I think if the bow is a 2001 that the price would be negotiable and you should be able to get it down a bit. Then I would think the price would be ok but is a bit high right now.You will have to make that decission for yourself and know what bows sell for in your area.I sold a 2001 Ultratec setup ready to hunt with arrows and everything for $400.00 this year. This was to my brother in law and I think I give him a deal.

As far as the limbs are concerned,DON' T BE CONCERNED,they are some of the best available if not the best.Just take a look at the Hoyt wins this year and that should tell you something about there quality and accuracy.I havn' t heard of a single limb failure since going to the XT2000 limbs. The first split limbs weren' t all that great but these limbs are fabulous.

Also the riser design takes the vibration away from your hand making them some of the smoothest shooting bows today.
